Harmony of tradition and modernity are the representation of the costumes of Karnataka. The dressing sense is the reflection of the contemporary society of Karnataka. There are no fixed rules for attire but generally women in Karnataka wear sarees as tradition and men usually go by what the elders wear. Women generally wore sarees of all kinds, very rarely wore salwars or pants and men were more on their lower garments and wore shirts occasionally. Turbans, pedas and Kulavi were commonly used to wear as headgear among the wealthy crowd. Jewellery was common in both men and women Finger rings, ear studs, necklaces, bangles and bracelets were popular among women. Finger rings and kadas, and chains were common among the men. During the Hampi festival headbands with flowers and perfumes made of different items like rose, sandalwood, flowers and civet were all used.

Lungi is the main attire of the men, it’s suppose to be worn below the waist beneath the shirt. A "angavastram" made of silk or cotton is placed on the neck or shoulder. Most of the men wear shirts and pants to make it easy for them to be comfortable and on occasions dress themselves in traditional manner of Panche which is like a dhoti. Mysore petta is the headdress of the men in Karnataka.

Nomadic people are known as Lambanis in Karnataka and Banjaras elsewhere, they are originally from Marwar, who are originally from South or Middle India . Since they are nomadic crowd they either assimilate or isolate themselves. Lambani women still stick on to their traditional outfit dress which is most colorful, and elaborate of any tribal group in india. The Lambani's dress will have lot of mirrors and embroidery craft which they are a expertise at. They learn and practice the craft to make more clothes for the use of their own community and weddings.

Karnataka women generally wore sarees, mainly consisting of silk which happens to be the tradition costume. Karnataka is known for its silk production and wide spectrum in the country. Karnataka also has a wide variety of smooth silks, sleek chiffons, gorgeous brocades. These sarees when worn by the women it only adds décor to Hampi and establishes its way to other parts of the country and foreign nations. Mysore silk is the oldest and famous kind of silk sarees in Bangalore and Mysore. The marvelous shine, quality thread weaving and interweaving of gold threads in exclusive creations attribute to the popularity of the saree which has become a favorite costume.

Though lot of visitors come there and is UNESCO World Heritage Center Hampi in itself is a humble place, where a city dweller can enjoy a village lifestyle and beauty. Now with the growth of cotton and silk variety among the local chieftains in and around Bellary has emerged in the well known Ilkal Sarees. Bellary is also known for branded and unbranded denim outfits. Some of the brands sold there are Point Blank, Walker, dragonfly and Podium which are being marketed national and international level. Bellary gives work to more than 3000 families working in more than 260 units of denim garments. The Karnataka State govt. has proposed for an apparel park in Bellary at the cost of nearly Rs 27crin 154 acres of land.

There are no exclusive fitness centres or gyms in Hampi, but all good resorts like the Hyatt Place in Hampi has a good fully equipped gym section and yoga centre. All luxury resorts in Hampi have the gym and yoga facility. Common man in Hampi use less of the gym, pool, yoga sessions. It is mostly attractive to the tourists and visitors who visit Hampi.
